Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri admits “Milan made a great signing” in Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine spent the past two seasons in Turin, but after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo he joined their rivals on an €18m loan with a €36m option to buy.

“Higuain is a great striker and Milan made a great signing,” Allegri told reporters after today’s Samsung event.

“[Sporting director Fabio] Paratici worked really well in the summer, there’s no point talking about the transfer market now.

“Ronaldo? He scored a great goal in Udine. I’ve already made my feelings clear on the subject and I think it’s right to talk about something else.”

At today’s event, Allegri declared it was time for the Old Lady to win in Europe.

“The desire to win the Champions League is always there,” the Tuscan reiterated.

“I’ve been participating in it since 2010 and so far I’ve never managed to win it. I hope this can be the right year, we’ve started well and we’re getting some players back now.”
