Pisa centre-forward Lorenzo Lucca is at the centre of a bidding war between Bologna, Sassuolo and now also Ajax.

The Italy Under-21 international looks to be on the move from the Serie B side this summer, but his destination is not yet clear.

Initially, Sportitalia pointed him towards Sassuolo as a replacement for Gianluca Scamacca after the transfer to West Ham United.

Sky Sport Italia then saw Bologna as the favourites and a deal seemingly imminent.

Now the same source claims that Ajax have dived in with a proposal for the striker and have become the new most likely candidates.

Lucca turns 22 in September and has two goals in five caps for Italy at Under-21 level.

The initial proposal was €10m from Bologna, whereas Ajax have seemingly raised their bid to €11-12m.

He had already attracted a great deal of attention at the start of the season when he scored six goals in the opening seven rounds of the Serie B campaign.

However, he did not find the net again throughout the season.

5 thought on “Ajax fight Bologna and Sassuolo for Lucca”
  1. Go to Ajax – he’ll actually play regularly there and improve. Unlike Italy when he isn’t the prime young age of 30 before he can play

  2. go to Ajax where your skills will be developed and a big chance to play at champions league which can be very rewarding for your future.

  3. I agree with your guys, he should go to Ajax and play regular football and European competitions. The big serie a clubs will not give him that scope.

  4. Agree with you all, with Serie A clubs being afraid of youth he should make this move, italy need young new CF’s playing at a high level and not rotting the bench at Bologna playing second fiddle.
