Ciro Immobile’s agent claims the Lazio striker would be ‘a great signing’ for Milan – but only if the club address their ownership problems.

Immobile had emerged as a target for Milan, who are in the market for a goalscorer, but while Alessandro Moggi could see his client at San Siro, he made it clear a deal could not happen until the Rossoneri found stability.

“Immobile is calm and can stay at Lazio, with whom we’re discussing another renewal,” he told 7Gold.

“It’s clear that there may be interest from other clubs, but he’s very attached to Lazio and we’ll go on like this, although if you sell Cristiano Ronaldo, you can sell anyone…

“Milan? He was an objective for them. I don’t know if he was their first choice, so you’d have to ask them.

“Milan have also been experiencing very complex and unfortunate issues, so their market can only get under way once their ownership issues are clarified and with UEFA.

“It’ll take time, but it’ll be sorted no doubt, whether it’s with Elliott or someone else. I think if a new owner arrives, it would represent a positive shift.

“I think Milan, in a sporting sense, need a couple of little tweaks, certainly an attacker among them.

“Immobile would be a great signing for Milan, no doubt. He’s the striker of our national team and the most important Italian striker in our League.

“He also had the misfortune of getting injured in the final three games of last season, otherwise he’d have continued to duel with Cristiano Ronaldo for the Golden Boot.

“He would be an coup for Milan if they had the chance to sign him. If Milan can sign an important striker, they’ll finish higher than they did last season.

“If Gattuso had a striker who scored 15/18 goals a season, he’d have probably achieved a better finish in the table, despite [Milan’s] bad start.

“If there had not been the misfortune of what happened to Astori, playing the derby [against Roma] at peak performance would’ve been the turning point for Immobile.”
