Milan will sign a new centre forward in the summer, with Gianluca Scamacca and Alvaro Morata reportedly on top of the Rossoneri’s shortlist.
Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani are making their assessment regarding a new centre forward for 2023-24.
According to Tuesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 2), West Ham forward Scamacca is their primary target and the Rossoneri will continue talks with the Hammers in the coming days. The pink paper also mentions Porto’s Mehdi Taremi as a potential target for the Rossoneri, but the Iran international would fill the second and last slot for non-EU players at the Stadio Meazza.
Lens’ Lois Openda has also been linked with a move to Milan, but negotiations between the two clubs are not in place at the moment. The same is true of Lille’s Jonathan David.
Multiple reputable sources in Italy, including Sky Sport and Daniele Longo, say Morata is a more concrete target for the Serie A giants.
The Spain international will extend with Atletico Madrid until 2026 but will have a €10m clause in his deal with the Colchoneros, a fee that fits Milan’s transfer strategies.
Sport Mediase reported last week that the Rossoneri had opened talks with ex-Inter forward Mauro Icardi, who returned to PSG after a one-year loan at Galatasaray. His wife and agent Wanda Nara recently posted an hourglass emoji on Instagram in front of Milan’s Dome, suggesting that something may happen soon. However, talks between the Rossoneri and the Argentinean don’t seem to be at an advanced stage.
Milan had made Marcus Thuram their primary target for the attack, but the France international rejected their offer, opting for city rivals Inter. The striker underwent his medical with the Nerazzurri on Tuesday morning. Likewise, Romelu Lukaku is unwilling to sign for the Rossoneri and wants to join Inter on a permanent transfer from Chelsea.
