Atalanta director Tony D’Amico admits Liverpool are interested in Teun Koopmeiners but confirms La Dea don’t want to sell.

The Netherlands international has been linked with a move to Anfield in the January transfer window, but the Nerazzurri are not planning to part ways with the 24-year-old.

“There is nothing, surely we are flattered by the interest because it means that we have strong players, but Koopmeiners is an Atalanta player and will remain so,” D’Amico told Sky Sport Italia before Atalanta’s away game at Bologna.

Reports in Italy suggested last week that La Dea will only consider selling the Dutch midfielder for an offer in the region of €40m.

Koopmeiners starts in the middle of the park at the Stadio Dall’Ara this evening.

Marco Sportiello is said to be on Milan‘s radars, with a contract expiring in June 2023. The Rossoneri need a new goalkeeper in January to replace the injured Mike Maignan, but yet again Atalanta don’t want to sell.

“We had no contact with Milan, he [Sportiello] will remain at Atalanta,” ensured D’Amico.

La Dea sent Ukraine international Ruslan Malinovskyi out on loan at Marseille. The Ligue 1 side have an option to make his move permanent in the summer.

“We thank him for what he did here. It was an opportunity and we decided to take it. We have many players in that role,” concluded D’Amico.
