According to Le Parisien, Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan will be out for two to three weeks after an injury playing for France.

The shot-stopper had his fifth senior cap for France in last night’s 2-0 Nations League victory over Austria.

He went off at half-time due to a calf injury, himself only starting because first choice Hugo Lloris was out of action.

The reports emerging from Le Parisien claim that tests by the France medical team at the American hospital in Neuilly show a strain to Maignan’s calf and a recovery time of two to three weeks.

It would be a real blow for the Rossoneri, who have big games coming up against Chelsea in the Champions League, then Juventus in Serie A and back with the English club again on October 11.

It is a particular problem for those two Champions League games, because Ciprian Tatarusanu was left off the squad for that tournament.

Therefore the only available goalkeeper would be 39-year-old Antonio Mirante, who has not made a competitive appearance since the Europa League semi-final for Roma in May 2021.

  1. @Tony: as you repeatedly whine for “Italian blood”, i suggest you can switch to support a primavera team. Or a local club at your neighborhood, not a big team competing at international level.

  2. Rosario, Tata can’t play Champs League, we will have to play a goalie we only signed for Quota purposes for Champs Lge, this is a disaster…….

  3. Any time I would support Italian local team.
And I would be proud to do so.
Remember Milan great days were when team was mostly Italian
