Atalanta forward Luis Muriel has matched the Serie A record by scoring 25 goals off the bench, but can you remember who achieved that first?
The Colombia international was a substitute in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat away to Sassuolo and found the net in stoppages for a consolation goal.
That was the 25th time Muriel has scored in Serie A despite not being in the starting XI.
It allowed him to equal the record in the three points for a win era, which was previously set by Alessandro Matri.
Muriel has hit the back of the net in Serie A representing Lecce, Udinese, Sampdoria and Atalanta.
He has 94 goals in 275 Serie A appearances, 25 of those coming off the bench, but had been on the cusp of this record since his last goal as a sub against Spezia on November 20, 2021.
Matri, who is now 37 years old, retired in 2020 with 92 goals in 346 Serie A games under his belt.
The centre-forward was on target in the Italian top flight for Cagliari, Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina, Genoa, Lazio and Sassuolo.

I thought record holded Julio Ricardo Cruz of Inter. He scored many goals as substitute.
Muriel has also scored for Fiorentina as well in the 2018-19 season.
