Reports in Italy claim Liverpool striker Divock Origi has agreed a three-year contract with Milan, joining as a free agent.

The forward turns 27 next week and his contract with Liverpool is due to expire on June 30.

According to Sport Mediaset, negotiations have today reached a conclusion and the terms agreed for a deal with the Rossoneri.

Origi is expected to sign a three-year contract worth circa €3.5m per season.

There will also be an option to extend for a fourth year.

This is still a pay cut compared to the €4m per season that Origi currently earns at Liverpool, but Milan did push up their original €3m proposal to reach the agreement.

The Belgium international has been at Anfield since 2014, although he did go out on loan spells to Lille and Wolfsburg.

So far this season, Origi has found the net five times and contributed three assists, despite only playing for 533 minutes of football in 14 competitive games.

Milan were reminded of their need for reinforcements in attack after a second consecutive 0-0 draw put their Serie A leadership at risk.

  1. Very good player, versatile, free transfer, relatively low wages, coming into his prime and could have a decent sell on price… Smart signing.

  2. So sad that Milan fans are getting excited over a bench warmer. No wonder why the club will be stuck with 1 star and the next Scudetto will arrive in 50 years. For all the criticism of Juventus they never go that low and nor do Inter. The two biggest teams in Italy will be adding proper quality come June. Origi is a good player but not one that is going to get you to the heights of yesteryear.

  3. @justin that why the two clubs UCL trophy combine isn’t even up to Milan‘s 7 UCl won! Both juve and inter will always be local champion…no wonder Milan is the best supporting club outside of Italy and with the largest fan base outside of Italy….forza milan

  4. @Adeleye not true in terms of how you are looking at things. Yes you’re correct in mentioning the 7 CL’s but everybody knows that Juventus are absolutely the biggest club in Italia. If you talk about fans Juventus have a bigger social media present and far more followers. It is hard to tell as Inter are bigger in China, but in the US it is Juve. That said I recognise the stature of ACM but @Justin is right in implying that for such a big team you have not the league title in decades and that is not acceptable.

  5. Personally to me it sounds like juve fans are more concerned about milans team than milan fans are about it.
Listen we know our team is a low budget no superstars. But we are still top of the league with what we have.
And it wont take more than 2-3 big signings for us to compete with the best in europe.
As an outsider you probably dont see our team in the same way because you are to blinded of you own.
We already have the best goalkeeper in italy, plus the best left back in Theo.
Plus we have Tomori, Benacer and Tonali. All low cost signings that would cost at least 50mil each.
Our problem is the injuries upront and a non-performing Brahim Diaz.
Give us 2 more years and will get there. When we were on top of serie a we got several chl titles what did juve and napoli give to italy while inter and milan were crumbling.

  6. These lots spoke dust about Giroud too, you are talking about a club well managed with decent budget and sensible wage structure.

You are a disgrace to the league considering how much you spent and can’t still touch a tea cup in europe. You hired a dead horse Ronaldo for 32m per season for CL yet you only claimed the 4th spot in last day of the season. Shame on you Juve fans.

Milan might win the league or not but they are certainly achieving their aim within the budget and gradually building a good team while playing the best football. I feel like vomiting when i watch Juve.

You are ugly to watch just like you are dodgy with your accounts, Super League is a burst, Juve must be mentioned im any fraud and prosecution matters in Serie A.

    Shame on you lots.

  7. Good move for both Milan and Origi. Origi has shown to be a talented striker when given opportunities at Liverpool, and Milan need more striking options.

  8. Pointing out Milan‘s 7 UCL wins, the last of which was 15 years ago, doesn’t do any favours to the club or the league at present. The bottomline is Milan, like Inter and other Serie A clubs, are picking up EPL scraps. Origi is the 6th choice forward at Liverpool, hence the reason he’s being let go at his so-called prime. If he was that good, he would have been challenging the other forwards at the club for a place in the first team. I’m not knocking just Milan, it’s endemic with Serie A clubs now where they would rather go for foreigners than develop their own primavera players.

  9. Good signing. He’ll provide a good coverage across the front 3 and might even push for a starting spot on the right. The key really is the AM. I am not convinced Adli is the answer as he only has 1 goal all season in Ligue 1. I actually Adli would be a better replacement for Kessie and then we could focus all our cash and time on that AM position. That AM position will be the difference between winning and drawing games next season. It’s absolutely key.

  10. Another blah Serie A signing. Will add absolutely little to the prestige of the league and to Milan‘s offense. He rarely played at Liverpool

  11. Tomori wasn’t a starter in England either. It’s always hard to judge these international transfers before we’ve seen them in action. I don’t mind this signing at all – We’re essentially comparing to what Saelemaekers has produced, who also arrived as a rather anonymous profile, and while I don’t think Oeigi will carry the entire attack, he can most definitely be useful.

Free transfer, not yet pushing 30 – If he is a flop we’re wasting a reasonable salary. If he works out he’ll either build the team or leave at a profit in two years.

We weren’t gonna get Haaland, we’re we? Mbappe?

Fingers crossed – There’s every chance he kills it. No player comes with a guarantee… Ask Lampard if he remembers his comment in Sheba’s aigning in 2006 – ‘One of the few strikers that’ll pretty much guarantee you 20 goals a season.”

Ronaldo won how many UCL’s for Juve?

  12. @flavio we all know how juve won and became the best club in Italy but not in the Europe or the world
We also know the extra added time called until juve score or the bribery going on and we are also aware of the penalties given to juve
Lecce are relegated since over 10 years now because their survival goal was disallowed against juve
Juve has been a disgrace to Italy in Europe by always getting knocked out when it matters most
No matter how hard juve tries they will never win the champions league until Milan wins it again because Champions league is in Milan DNA
    Milan Respect

  13. Justin, the “two biggest teams in Italy” are also in chronic financial trouble and do not meet the current FFP regulations with constant “injections” of capital, and will definitely not meet the new FFP regulation. Also, AC Milan has the second most international club titles after only Real Madrid, and is only 1 scudetto behind Inter. In fact Milan has more Champions League titles than Juventus and Inter combined. In fact, if I were a betting man I’d say it’s more likely that Milan will win the CL again before Juventus or Inter do, however long that takes. Please go troll somewhere else.

  14. Don’t get why people are bashing this signing. Especially rival fans.

Although Origi probably wouldn’t find space at Inter as things are right now, I’d be happy if Beppe signed him.
I personally think this is a good piece of business from Milan.

  15. Bench warmer? Ha. He’s on the fringes of the best attacking trident in the world and probably one of the best ever.

It’s not the early 2000s, it’s a good signing and at the very least an improvement on what we have on the right.

Leao and Origi cutting inside and making space for hopefully a new no9 sounds good to me.

  16. People calling him a bench warmer, yes, he is. Behind probably the best front 3 in the world. You would swear he was on the bench at Torquay.
