“It’ll be a hard-fought game, as always, and certainly interesting,” the Italy legend told lalaziosiamonoi.it.

Zoff was both Coach and President of the Biancocelesti in the 1990s.

“For Lazio in particular it’ll be an incentive to end the season well. I’d like to see them play without fear or excessive respect for Roma, pouring all their determination on to the field.

“Roma certainly have more to lose in this game, as they are chasing a Champions League spot and fighting for the top three.

“I think the key men in this match will be Mohamed Salah for Roma and Candreva for Lazio. Senad Lulic and the other injured players will without doubt be missed by Lazio, but we’ll see if Stefano Pioli is able to work around them.”

Nobody is expecting the usual derby atmosphere, as both Roma and Lazio ultras continue their boycott in protest at barriers splitting the Curva Nord and Sud.

“A derby without the Curve is certainly not the same,” added Zoff. “With Lazio going through such a delicate time, the lack of fans isn’t helping anyone.

“When you are supported by the passion and enthusiasm of the crowd, it’s much easier for players to give their best.”
