Juventus legend Dino Zoff is optimistic that his former club can get back to winning ways.

The Old Lady ended the past campaign in seventh, thus missing out on qualification for the Champions League and Europa League.

That failure will see boss Gigi Del Neri replaced by Siena Coach and former Juve midfielder Antonio Conte.

"Juventus can return to being great with Conte," Zoff told calcionews24 of the man whom he coached for the Azzurri.

"He has a winning mentality, the mentality of someone who has spent many years with the club and knows what it means to be at Juventus.

"A few haven't understood what the club is all about. It's up to Conte to make sure the right spirit returns."

Juve will renew their playing staff too and have already assured themselves the services of Milan's Andrea Pirlo and Sampdoria left-back Reto Ziegler.

"They are two excellent players, individuals who were also free transfers which undoubtedly is an advantage as it doesn't take funds away from the transfer budget," Zoff added.

"It'll be important for the club to make the right decisions and the directors can't make any mistakes.

"It was a disappointing campaign and it is sad to see Juventus out of Europe too. With the right captures I am convinced that we will see a different Juve."

Zoff was also asked which players the Bianconeri should target in the transfer window this summer.

"I won't permit myself to make any suggestions. All I will say is that it will be better to buy one champion rather than four average players."
