New Roma Coach Zdenek Zeman is reportedly keen to reignite his personal interest in Napoli’s Eduardo Vargas.

Before making the move back to the capital club, which was confirmed just yesterday, Zeman was reportedly in talks with Napoli over the possibility of taking the Chilean attacker on a year’s loan to newly-promoted Pescara.

Zeman had just completed a year working with Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne in a similar capacity and President Aurelio De Laurentiis was reportedly open to one either he or Vargas working with the experienced tactician in 2012-13.

Despite the Coach’s transfer to Roma suggesting a breakdown of such a possibility, reports in Italy are alleging that the 65-year-old will encourage Franco Baldini and Walter Sabatini to try to loan Vargas from the Vesuviani.

Vargas only joined Napoli in January and, despite struggling for first-team action after a difficult first few appearances, could be in line for an increased role in the team next season if the club sell Ezequiel Lavezzi as expected.
