Simone Zaza is relishing the “opportunity for revenge” as Italy – and Juventus players – face Germany in Munich.

“I am happy with my performance against Spain. Obviously everyone wants to play more regularly, but this is a solid and strong squad,” said the Juventus striker in a Press conference.

Simone Zaza is relishing the “opportunity for revenge” as Italy – and Juventus players – face Germany in Munich.

The Nazionale earned a 1-1 draw with Spain on Thursday and visit Germany at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

“I am happy with my performance against Spain. Obviously everyone wants to play more regularly, but this is a solid and strong squad,” said the Juventus striker in a Press conference.

“Antonio Conte taught us a great deal. We cannot afford to just be a selection of players, but must become a real team and play the Euros as protagonists.

“It’s a shame the Coach is leaving the Nazionale, as he helped me a great deal. I will forever be grateful that he gave me my first Italy cap when I was at Sassuolo.

“I’ve improved since then, as I am now at a big club. I still need to do better in my approach and am still a bit too hasty, but I do feel more mature.”

It’ll be a return to the Allianz Arena for several Juventus players just weeks after their Champions League elimination to Bayern Munich in extra time.

“We want to go there to win. We proved to the people and to ourselves that when we are concentrated, we are strong,” noted Zaza.

“I take this as an opportunity for revenge, because I did suffer that elimination along with my teammates.

“We are not going to Euro 2016 for a stroll. We put in a great performance against Spain and now will try to prove ourselves in Germany.

“Looking around, I don’t see one single side that can crush all the others. That means we can do well in the Euros.”

Italy tested out a new 3-4-3 system against Spain and will use it again for the trip to Germany.

“Having played in Eusebio Di Francesco’s Sassuolo really helped me to work in Conte’s trident, even if the movements are a little different. If you have talented players by your side, it all becomes easier.”
