Inter captain Javier Zanetti has said that he wants to “avenge the embarrassment” of the 3-1 defeat to Roma against Torino this weekend.

The Nerazzurri will travel to the Stadio Oimpico to face Toro on Sunday and the 39-year-old defender has called for his team to use the Giallorossi loss as a motivation against Giampiero Ventura's side.

“I expect an interesting game,” he told Tuttosport. “Torino are a good team that are playing well. On Sunday we will definitely avenge the embarrassment we suffered at home to Roma.”

The Argentina international also commented on the arrival of former Milan striker Antonio Cassano this summer.

“Antonio is a very nice guy,” the South American claimed. “He has fitted in well and is great fun, as well as obviously a great player.

“The strength of the team goes hand-in-hand with the cohesion that exists between the players. I have always said that the Inter dressing room was, and is, united.

“It is no coincidence that we have won practically everything there is to win.”

Zanetti concluded the interview by remarking on his relationship with Coach Andrea Stramaccioni. “The Coach is a strong Coach, a well prepared Coach, and….three years younger than me!”
