Inter captain Javier Zanetti has applauded Roma for the way they played in their 3-1 win at the Stadio Meazza.

The Giallorossi, now bossed by Zdenek Zeman, are a side who attack and they collected all three points on Sunday evening.

“We knew that Roma would be good at taking advantage of the space we would leave from time to time,” the Argentine told Inter Channel.

“It’s just that tonight we did it too frequently. Then in the second half, when we were expecting things to go better, they got their second goal…

“Roma have proven to be a very solid team and I think they can go far this season – and I hope we’re there too.”

Some were backing Inter for a title bid after a summer of changes, but the captain has insisted that they will need time.

“We still have to grow a lot and there’s much to correct,” he added. “We have many new players and we have to understand just what the Coach wants.

“We all need to focus on understanding what’s going on. We're just at the beginning.”
