“It’s a wonderful atmosphere and I’d love to still play games like this,” the Vice-President told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’ll be very difficult, as Eintracht press well, they have a lot of pace and are very strong on home turf, so we’ll have a task on our hands.
“It is very important to win in Europe, as it gives you the self-confidence to grow as a group and realise the project is on the right track.”
Zanetti was asked about the meeting between director general Beppe Marotta, striker Icardi and his agent Wanda Nara, as they try to resolve the impasse that exploded after Maurito was stripped of the captaincy.
“I believe dialogue is always the right path. We’ll see what happens over the next few days, but if there is this opening of the door, that is welcome, and we’ll see what happens.”
Inter and Milan have been discussing a potential revamp of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, or even setting up elsewhere in the city with a new arena.
“San Siro is a legendary stadium that gave me and so many others these emotional responses. It would really disappoint me to leave San Siro.”
