“In a season there can be difficult moments and this is the time when we need to give something more,” Vice-President Zanetti told Inter Channel.
“We have to find the certainty we had a month ago, as let’s not forget these lads were protagonists for a long time this season.
“The derby can give us that extra push that we need. It’s a very special game, keenly felt and will be presented in the best possible way.”
The Nerazzurri were top of the table before Christmas, but have slipped down to fourth in Serie A and were hammered 3-0 by Juventus in the Coppa Italia midweek.
“What we need is unity, as it’s the only way out of a difficult moment. Problems are resolved by working together and showing great togetherness.”
Inter could still do with a player like Zanetti in the side and he feels the same way.
“I do miss playing in the derby. I know how the fans feel when we face Milan or Juventus. The players know it too and I hope for a great game.
“We must give everything we’ve got and honour the shirt. That is the only way to get a great result.”
