Japan boss Alberto Zaccheroni is convinced Keisuke Honda will be a success once he joins Milan in January.

The club have confirmed that the player will arrive on a Bosman once his contract with CSKA Moscow expires at the end of this month.

“I think Honda’s move to Milan is a good one for him and me,” Zaccheroni commented to Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport.

“The months left before the World Cup will be needed for him to face the end of the season and consequently also the World Cup in the best possible way.

“I’m convinced that he is a player who will be admired. He is physically strong, has excellent technique and great personality.

“I bossed Milan for three years and I know how much a player’s character is important in such a set-up.”

Honda, 27, will be handed the No 10 shirt after signing a contract at Milanello until the summer of 2017.
