German newspapers claim Wolfsburg are preparing a €22m bid for Roma striker Mattia Destro.
This is not the first time the forward has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga, where Ciro Immobile already joined Borussia Dortmund this summer.
According to Bild, Wolfsburg are stepping forward for Destro and are ready to offer €22m.
Roma have been very active on the transfer market this summer, but could risk falling foul of Financial Fair Play unless they also sell.
Adem Ljajic has so far been the favourite to be sold, but Destro could well raise more funds.
Destro was injured for the better part of a year, but last season the 23-year-old scored 13 goals in just 20 Serie A games.
