Fabio Paratici is looking to Serie A to save Tottenham’s January transfer window, but will his Italian focus help in Spurs’ top four fight?

The Lillywhites have been linked with a number of Serie A players lately, with the current targets being Juventus’ Dejan Kulusevski and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat. Other players in Italy they’ve been linked to include Rodrigo Bentancur, Weston McKennie, Alvaro Morata, Paulo Dybala, Franck Kessie and more.

It’s clear that Paratici trying to utilise his history with Serie A in order to provide strong reinforcements for coach Antonio Conte, but so far this has not paid off. His fractured relationship with Juventus means that Kulusevski’s agent is playing middle man in the negotiations, and he has failed to secure a single January reinforcement for the expectant former Inter coach.

Conte’s Tottenham currently sit 7th in the Premier League table, two points below Manchester United, although they have two games in hand. If the Lillywhites sign both Kulusevski and Amrabat, they’ll significantly strengthen both their midfield and attack, which could prove vital as the race for a top four spot heats up over the coming months.

Questions are starting to be asked about Paratici following a difficult January in North London, and now it’s time to see if his Italian focus will prove beneficial for Tottenham or not.

  1. Serie A should put more value on there players… Especially ones with potential. Do like prem… Poor players go for 30/40mill… Mediocre 60mill.. Etc. Good to see a lot of players rejecting the money and the prem to stay in Serie A. Hopefully more follow and if any are sold… Make them pay much more

  2. @serie a Perhaps you should remember this is not a video game. There is transfer market that establishes the value of players and is a guide for what their value is. Have a look and perhaps you won’t make comments that sound like they come from a child.
