Jose Mourinho is not on the Roma bench for the Derby della Capitale, as he sits out a touchline ban for his row with fourth official Marco Serra, but don’t expect to see him in the stands.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 17.00 GMT.

The Giallorossi will not have Mourinho shaking hands with Maurizio Sarri before kick-off, because the Special One continues his two-match touchline ban.

It was imposed for the row with fourth official Serra during a 2-1 defeat to Cremonese and remains the cause of controversy, as Mourinho claims he was insulted by Serra.

There is an investigation and there are strong reports Serra will be deferred to the Disciplinary Commission and even the Referees’ Association for breaching the code of ethics.

Nonetheless, Mourinho’s ban remains, having already missed the 4-3 defeat to Sassuolo.

Don’t expect to see him in the stands of the Stadio Olimpico, as Mou has made a habit of hiding away during his many suspensions so far this season.

In away fixtures, he tends to remain in the team bus outside to watch on a monitor, while at the Olimpico he settles into a hidden room in the bowels of the arena.
