Juventus could be edging closer to their Memphis Depay deal thanks to some outstanding money Barcelona owe them for Miralem Pjanic.

The striker is under contract until June 2023 and is trying to terminate that by mutual consent early in order to make the move to Turin.

However, those negotiations are dragging on because Barcelona owe Depay some outstanding wages and he is not prepared to let those go.

According to Calciomercato.com, the solution could come from Juventus giving up some money that the Blaugrana still owe them.

Those would be performance-related bonuses tied to future appearances at Camp Nou for Pjanic, who famously made the move to Barcelona in exchange for Arthur Melo plus cash in September 2020.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international spent last season on loan at Besiktas, but seems to be in their plans for the current campaign and will remain.

So Juve are prepared to let go of circa €2m in bonuses that would be heading their way for Pjanic, as long as Barcelona let Depay leave for free.

Juventus have already agreed personal terms with Depay, who is set to sign a two-year contract worth €6m per season including add-ons.

  1. £6M for someone who is not clutch. Perfect for the 7/9 but a nightmare for PhD Max. He is not an out and out striker. Therefore he will need to be played in front of the backline.

  2. Lord Patron is still spamming all threads with was he thinks is funny talk.

Perfect signing and replacement for Dybala. If he discover his form from the national side and Lyon times he will be devastating.
