Milan will soon announce Sergiño Dest from Barcelona and there are two main reasons why the Rossoneri have gone for the USMNT international.

Dest landed in Milano this morning and is undergoing his medical with the Serie A champions.

Milan moved quickly to secure the services of a new full-back after an injury to Alessandro Florenzi, Football Italia can confirm.

The Italy international is expected to remain out of action for several weeks with a muscle issue, so the Rossoneri needed a new player to replace him.

Dest can play right or left-winger, but could also be a valuable option in attack, where Milan sometimes lack quality.

Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias aren’t delivering consistently on the right flank, so Dest could also be deployed in the attacking trident if needed.

Milan will pay 100% of Dest’s salary throughout the season and have an option to make his move permanent for €20m next summer.

  1. I like Florenzi but he’s not physical enough to be a regular starter at RB. He’s a late game introduction and that’s all. Dest is more versatile but like Theo when he first came he needs to work on his defensive game.

  2. This guy would make more sense as a RW, since we can use Kalulu as a better RB. Unless Kalulu can play right wing too – anyone know? 🙂

  3. From the little i saw of him, i think hed be better suited as a RW. He looks more dangerous and adventurous then Salemaekers and Messias.
