Leonardo Bonucci, Arek Milik and Juan Cuadrado complained on social media after a late winner disallowed by VAR against Salernitana, but fans expected an official statement the club didn’t release: here’s why.

The Bianconeri were held to a 2-2 stalemate by Salernitana on Sunday nigh. They had scored the winner through Milik, but it was disallowed following a VAR check. Leonardo Bonucci was considered to be involved in active play, so the goal was ruled out and Milik was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for celebrating shirtless.

The trouble is that VAR didn’t consider Antonio Candreva on the bottom left. The Italy winger kept Bonucci onside as confirmed by AIA on Monday.

Bonucci insists Juventus were ‘robbed’ against Salernitana

As Tuttosport reports, most Juventus fans on social media expected an official statement from the club, which has never been released. Why? According to the Turin-based paper, the Bianconeri want to focus on the upcoming matches, starting from the crucial Champions League meeting with Benfica tomorrow.

The Bianconeri don’t expect the game against Salernitana to be replayed and believe there isn’t much more to add to such a big and objective error. Staff members spotted Candreva on Sunday night and informed Max Allegri before his round of post-match interviews. Now Juventus only want to focus on the pitch.

  1. The players and manager said plenty on the pitch and off of it, didn’t think an official statement was required too?
