Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton are interested in Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, but selling the Brazilian is ‘impossible’, according to Gazzetta, as the Bianconeri can’t accept less than €31m.

Arthur spent the last season on loan at Liverpool but struggled with injuries and didn’t even make his Premier League debut with the Reds. He has returned to Turin with barely 200 minutes under his belt and Juventus are now looking for a new club given that the ex-Barça man is not on Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.

Tuesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 6) confirms De Zerbi’s Brighton are interested in Arthur, but it will be ‘impossible’ for Juventus to sell the Brazilian on a permanent transfer.

His amortised value is still €31m, a fee that Brighton and any other club are unwilling to pay. Therefore, Juventus must work on a new loan deal for the 26-year-old who is among the highest earners at the Allianz Stadium with a €6m-a-year salary.

Juventus directors are expected to fly to London this week so they could meet with Brighton to discuss a loan move for the midfielder. Arthur has two more years left in his contract with the Old Lady.
