According to Tuttosport newspaper, Torino have rejected bids from Napoli and Liverpool for their defender Perr Schuurs, but expect the Reds to return with an improved offer.

The 23-year-old made 30 appearances in his first Serie A season last term, attracting interest from some of the best clubs in Europe.

According to Tuesday’s printed edition of Tuttosport newspaper (page 9), both Napoli and Liverpool have moved the first steps towards signing the ex-Ajax centre-back.

The Serie A champions reportedly offered €25m plus €3m add-ons tied to their Champions League qualification in 2023-24. Liverpool offered €30m, but both proposals have been rejected by Torino.

According to the report, the Granata President Urbano Cairo hopes to get at least €40m from the defender’s sale after buying him for just €9.4m last summer.

Napoli are looking for a replacement for Kim who is set to join Bayern Munich for more than €50m.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be a long-time admirer of the 23-year-old defender and already tried to sign him from Ajax. This is why Torino believe Liverpool will soon come back with an improved bid, closer to their asking price.
