Italy fans used sarcasm to reply to Patrick Vieira and Gary Neville, who are sceptical about Italy despite two 3-0 wins at the Euros.

The Azzurri are enjoying a 29-game unbeaten streak and won the last ten games in a row, keeping just as many clean sheets.

Roberto Mancini’s men began the European Championships with two 3-0 wins. The first one against Turkey and the second one against Switzerland, both played at the Stadio Olimpico.

Despite their record, the Azzurri are still not convincing some pundits, especially former Premier League stars Gary Neville and Patrick Vieira who also played with Juventus and Inter during his career.

The 1998 World Cup winner lack “intensity, power, pace, to be even more dangerous going forward,” while Neville said the first two games the Azzurri played at the Euros “haven’t been a test for them” and that eventually they “will fall short.”

Useless to say, Italian fans didn’t take their words too well.

However, most of them replied politely and using sarcasm on social media, warning the Premier League giants about the Azzurri.

“England is pretty much the expert at falling short,” one user replied, while another on wondered which games Vieira and Neville have watched.

Italy have booked their place for the Round of 16 while England will play their second group stage game against Scotland tomorrow after beating Croatia 1-0 in their debut game.

Vieira’s France are the favourites to win the Euros and beat Germany 1-0 in their first game of the competition.
