Milan directors and President Paolo Scaroni watched players train on Wednesday and tried to motivate the team ahead of Sunday’s derby against Inter.

The Rossoneri have only won one game in 2023, losing the Supercoppa against Inter and facing Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of Torino. They conceded 12 goals in the last three games across all competitions and on Sunday they face Inter in the Derby della Madonnina.

According to Gazzetta, directors Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara, new CEO Giorgio Furlani and President Scaroni were all at Milanello on Wednesday to watch Stefano Pioli’s men train.

After that, they had lunch together, with Scaroni trying to motivate his players by saying: “Everyone at the club trusts you and we feel such a strong bond that we’d like to go out on the pitch with you.”

Milan directors wanted to show unity in front of players in one of the most challenging moments for the team in the last two years.

Milan currently have 38 points in Serie A, as many as Lazio and Atalanta, but they are now out of the top four on goal difference.
