The FIGC have charged Juventus and seven former or current directors for their alleged usage of ‘salary manoeuvres’, presenting new penalty risks for the club.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how the club and seven involved directors (Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedved, Fabio Paratici, Federico Cherubini, Giovanni Manna, Paolo Morganti and Stefano Braghin) have been charged with violating Article 4 of the Sporting Justice Code, and will now have to undergo a trial in June.

Prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè has accused Juventus of violating Article 6, which refers to the violations of Article 4 by the seven named directors. In this, the club are at risk of a number of penalties, including: a warning, a fine, a fine with a warning and a point penalty.

Juventus wanted to work towards a plea bargain with Chinè, hoping to be handed just a fine, but the FIGC prosecutor rebuffed their attempts, suggesting that he’s hoping to ask for another point deduction.

It’s still unclear how large of a point penalty will be requested, but this will change after the Bianconeri are handed their penalty in the capital gains case on Monday May 22. The FIGC want to resolve both cases before the end of June, allowing the punishments to be applied to the 2022-23 season.
