Nicolo Zaniolo reflected on his four-and-a-half-year period with Roma, thanking them following his move to Galatasaray.

The 23-year-old Italian forward officially joined the Turkish outfit on Wednesday, putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Istanbul club.

Zaniolo will be hoping to relaunch his career with Galatasaray following a miserable end to his time with Roma, which saw him booed on the pitch and confronted by fans outside his home in the capital.

The new Galatasaray forward posted a video on Instagram showing various memories of his time with Roma, writing a poignant goodbye to the club.

“I came to you who welcomed me as if I were at home. You made me grow, you gave me a chance that I tried to take with all my heart, always honouring the history you represent, fighting for your colours, sweating for the shirt every time I wore it.

“This journey is made up of unique emotions that I will treasure forever, like that May 25 last year, that goal, that cup…. all ours. So much has been said, too much, but now that we’ve said goodbye, I want to say one thing to you… It was an honour. Eternally grateful.”

  1. God, in everything that’s been going on I’d almost how good he could be when he could be bothered. Some great highlights there, but it’s been a while since we saw anything like that.
