Rumoured Juventus and Napoli target Sime Vrsaljko has extended his contract with Atletico Madrid until 2022.

The Croatian right-back was out of favour at the start of this season, and was heavily linked with a move back to Serie A, having previously played for Sassuolo.

However, he has since managed to become a regular fixture in Diego Simeone’s side, and today he signed a one-year extension to his contract.

“The club has reached an agreement with Sime Vrsaljko in which the Croatian international player will continue to wear our shirt until June 30, 2022, extending by one more year the contract that both parties signed in July 2016,” Atleti confirmed on their official website.
