Dusan Vlahovic says the key to Juventus success is they ‘prepare every game as if it was the last’ and admits the fans ‘put pressure on’ with their free kick chant.

There was no risk of the Bianconeri taking this test lightly, having lost 4-2 at the Mapei Stadium back in September, in what was their only defeat of the entire season so far.

Vlahovic made sure the points were safe with two splendid curlers in the opening 37 minutes, then Federico Chiesa came off the bench to seal the 3-0 result over Sassuolo late on.

“We prepare every game as if it was the last, we are trying to give our all in every match. We are happy to have won and want to continue like this, but must always be focused and concentrated,” the Serbian told DAZN.

His free kick technique has always been impressive and the Juve fans in the crowd set the scene when he was preparing for tonight’s goal with a growing hum of expectation.

“It is a wonderful sensation, this has been going on since I arrived and I am glad to have scored this free kick. Sometimes it puts the pressure on doing that, but I hope to score many more!

“I thank the fans, they are always behind us and are very important for us. We are so pleased when we get to play in front of a sold out crowd, they are our strength and we hope to always see them in these numbers.”

Chiesa was Vlahovic’s teammate even in the Fiorentina youth team, so they are very good friends and the Italian got back on target too tonight.

“I am very glad Fede scored today, as he deserves it, we’ve known each other a long time and it will help him going forward.”

It was Kenan Yildiz who again started upfront, as the 18-year-old is becoming a regular.

“Yildiz is very young, very, very talented. It doesn’t matter who I play alongside, I try to be compatible with everyone and help the team as much as possible.”

Juventus are now two points off leaders Inter, but also 16 points clear of Atalanta and Lazio in fifth place, so how long can they keep saying their target is Champions League qualification?

“We said since the start our objective is to finish in the top four, we’ll take it one step at a time and then see where we are.”
