Fiorentina announced two players have tested positive for COVID-19 and Dusan Vlahovic is not in the squad to face Cagliari.

The Serie A match is due to kick off on Sunday afternoon, but coach Vincenzo Italiano is forced to reshuffle.

A statement from the club today announced that two members of the matchday squad tested positive for COVID-19.

They are both fully vaccinated and asymptomatic.

There were rumours that Vlahovic was one of them and that seems to be confirmed, as the striker is not even in the squad for tomorrow’s Serie A match.

Riccardo Saponara is also not making the journey to Sardinia.

Lucas Martinez-Quarta is injured and Sofyan Amrabat currently on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The absence of Vlahovic would suggest January signing Krzysztof Piatek will lead the line for Fiorentina.

Fiorentina squad for Cagliari: Biraghi, Bonaventura, Callejon, Castrovilli, Igor, Dragowski, Duncan, Gonzalez, Ikone, Kokorin, Maleh, Milenkovic, Munteanu, Nastasic, Odriozola, Pulgar, Piatek, Rosati, Sottil, Terracciano, Terzic, Torreira, Venuti
