Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade wants Viola Coach Vincenzo Montella to remain at the club for years to come.

The Florence outfit look set to miss out on Champions League qualification but the 47-year-old believes the team is in good hands.

“We want Montella here for many years,” Prade said to La Repubblica. “He is a Coach we like, just as we like his way of thinking.

“We have a real identity and intensity in how we play. Us, Roma and Napoli are the teams who have played the best football this season.

“There is a strong rapport between Coach, club, owners, fans and the city.

“Our desire is to always improve. We want to get back into the Champions League as it would completely change our situation.

“It is a competition that gives you visibility. Fiorentina need to think about getting there, even though in the Italian League there are at least six teams who are financially stronger than us and are aiming for the same goals we are.”
