The report claims that the Premier League side want Giroud due to his vast experience of playing in England.

Aston Villa are ‘trying everything’ to bring Inter target Olivier Giroud to the club this month.

French outlet Le 10 Sport claim that due to Villa striker Wesley suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the club are intent on bringing in Giroud as his replacement.

The report claims that the Premier League side want Giroud due to his vast experience of playing in England.

Inter have been in talks with Giroud for a number of weeks, with terms reportedly agreed between the Italian side and the striker.

However there’s been a lack of agreement between the clubs as of yet.

The Nerazzurri can’t sign Giroud until they move Matteo Politano on, and the collapse of his move to Roma only complicates the transfer merry-go-round.

Giroud wants first team football ahead of Euro 2020 after falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Inter general manager Beppe Marotta spoke about the Giroud and Politano situations before Inter's game against Lecce.

“It’s normal that management works to prepare various negotiations so there are alternatives if it doesn’t go through. I won’t deny we spoke to Giroud’s entourage, we will evaluate the situation," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

“The two moves could be linked, but what doesn’t happen on the transfer market today could happen tomorrow.”
