Giovanni Simeone is undergoing his medical with Napoli ahead of an initial loan move to the Stadio Maradona.
The Partenopei are set to sign Simeone on loan with an obligation to buy if two out of three conditions are met between Champions League qualification, number of goals and appearances.
The Argentinean striker scored 17 goals in 35 Serie A games last term and comes to Naples to replace Andrea Petagna who has joined Monza, also on loan with an option to buy.
As per Sky Sport Italia, Napoli will pay €3.5m for the player’s loan and could make his move permanent next season for a further €12m.
Simeone will sign his Napoli contract following his medical at Rome’s Villa Stuart.
Napoli and Verona will meet in the first match of the season at the Stadio Bentegodi on Monday.
