Claudio Ranieri is back working in Italy and Serie B side Cagliari gave fans an insight into what it’s like to be trained by the veteran. ‘You live the game now.’
The 71-year-old has been a coach all over the world, winning the Premier League with Leicester City against all odds, leading teams in England, Spain, France and Greece.
This month he returned to Italy and Sardinia, where his coaching career effectively took off at Cagliari, leading them from Serie C to the top flight before leaving in 1991.
After more than 30 years, Ranieri proved he has lost none of his fire, as seen in this clip of his training session.
“Think of Saturday and what awaits us. You live the game now, even just five minutes, but you experience it now. Rapid, rapid, the mind must be rapid!”
When his players were weaving between sticks, Ranieri warned “there’s electricity in them, don’t touch!”
