Milan bring Simon Kjaer and Junior Messias back into the fold with Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud, while Inter look to Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu in the Supercoppa Italiana.

This very special edition of the Derby della Madonnina kicks off at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh at 19.00 GMT.

The Supercoppa is the clash between Serie A winners and Coppa Italia holders, but it also comes at a tricky time in the season for both teams, who are feeling the pressure as Napoli run away with the Scudetto.

Milan’s injury list remains extensive, still missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mike Maignan, Fode Ballo-Toure, Rade Krunic and Alessandro Florenzi, while Ante Rebic and Divock Origi are only fit for the bench.

The Rossoneri struggled badly with defending set plays and crosses recently, so Simon Kjaer returns to boost their aerial power, while Sandro Tonali returns after his ban for the 2-2 draw in Lecce.

Messias is preferred to Alexis Saelemaekers in support of Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao and Giroud.

Inter are still without Marcelo Brozovic and Samir Handanovic, while Romelu Lukaku is at best fit for a spot on the bench after those on-going muscular problems.

Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez are the default strike pairing so far this season, with Calhanoglu facing his former club having gained a new lease of life as a deep-lying playmaker.

Matteo Darmian and Federico Dimarco are again the preferred wing-backs, leaving Robin Gosens and Denzel Dumfries on the bench.

The Supercoppa will see the debut of semi-automatic offside technology, which will be used throughout Serie A from next week.

Inter: Onana; Skriniar, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez
