Milan star Rafael Leao took just three minutes to score on his World Cup debut for Portugal, after Cristiano Ronaldo made history as the first man to score in five World Cup campaigns.

The talented winger was named Serie A Player of the Season when he helped the Rossoneri win the Scudetto in 2021-22.

He was initially on the bench for todayโ€™s fixture against Ghana, but came on with the scoreline at 1-1.

First Joao Felix restored Portugalโ€™s advantage, then moments later Leao sprung the offside trap from a Bruno Fernandes through ball and with that traditional smile on his face, stroked the finish into the far bottom corner.

It was not only his first goal at a World Cup, but his first goal for Portugal at senior level at the 12th cap.

The 23-year-old made it 3-1, after Cristiano Ronaldo had made history in the same match by becoming the first man ever to score in five different World Cup tournaments, converting a soft penalty.

Former Juventus star CR7 found the net in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022.
