Leo Messi invoked Napoli and Argentina legend Diego Armando Maradona before the decisive penalty kick in the World Cup Final against France.

The South Americans won their first World Cup since 1986 when Maradona inspired their victory in Mexico.

Messi accomplished the same on Sunday, scoring two goals in the Final against France and converting a spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows Messi invoking Maradona before Gonzalo Montiel’s decisive penalty kick.

“Come on Diego, from the Sky,” said the PSG superstar.

Maradona’s son Diego Jr. celebrated Argentina’s win in the streets of Naples and praised Messi saying that nobody deserves the World Cup more than him.
