Sandro Tonali and the rest of the Newcastle squad have returned for pre-season training and the club have released footage of the first sessions on YouTube.

This week would have been the first opportunity for Tonali to get to know his new teammates on the pitch following his record-breaking move from Milan at the beginning of July.

Newcastle are believed to have paid upwards of €70m to snatch Tonali away from Milan, a record fee paid by the Magpies and a club-record sale by the Rossoneri.

Tonali was on international duty with Italy at the U21 Euros in June, so along with Newcastle’s other internationals, arrived back for training a few days after the rest of the team.

Halfway through the video posted to Newcastle’s social media channels, Tonali can be seen shaking hands with his new colleagues before taking part in some gym work and running drills.

Newcastle get their 2023-24 Premier League season underway with a visit from Aston Villa on August 12.
