Ultras of Fiorentina and Twente clashed ahead of today’s Conference League match in the Netherlands and Enschede’s mayor has forbidden Italian fans to enter the city.

Clashes between the two groups of fans occurred yesterday close to Enschede train station. Videos circulating on social media show ultras of the two clubs clashing close to the IntercityHotel.

Most of them wore black tracksuits with caps and hoods to partially cover their faces.

According to Gazzetta, Enschede’s mayor Roelof Bleker has approved an emergency regulation that forbides Italian fans from entering the city to avoid further clashes today.

Local authorities have not provided updates on the number of people arrested or wounded during yesterday’s clashes, but according to several witnesses, a few fans were treated at the scene.

According to the report, Italian fans at the Intercity hotel will be escorted by Police to the stadium today. At least 700-800 Viola fans have followed their team in The Netherlands.

It kicks off at 18.00 UK time at the stadium De Grolsch Veste. Fiorentina won the first leg in Florence 2-1 last week.
