Milan sensation Francesco Camarda was the star of the show when Italy beat Belgium in a 5-3 Under-17 European Championship qualifier.

The Azzurrini under coach Massimiliano Favo were trailing 2-0 after 14 minutes, but staged a remarkable comeback inspired by Camarda, who made history this season as the youngest ever player to make his Serie A debut.

He won a penalty, converted by Mattia Liberali, and Konde’s own goal got Italy back on level terms.

Camarda scored twice in seven minutes after the restart, with Alessandro Ciardi completing the rout.

The next Italy match in the qualifiers for the European Under-17 tournament will be against Finland on March 26.

The Azzurrini are top of Group 3 on six points.
