Arturo Vidal insists Inter ‘really needed a game like this’ against Sheriff in the Champions League and he ‘played the way I enjoy playing.’
The 3-1 result was sealed in Moldova thanks to goals from Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar and substitute Alexis Sanchez, while Adama Traore got a late consolation header on a free kick.
“We really needed a game like this, we’re on the right track to qualify for the next round and continue in the Champions League,” the Chilean told Mediaset Infinity.
It was a rare start for Vidal, who completed the midfield with Brozovic and Nicolò Barella.
“I am happy. I played the way I enjoy playing and I felt good today.”
He had been expected to start in Serie A last week, but was kept out by a sudden bout of flu symptoms.
