Guglielmo Vicario and Raoul Bellanova replied to social media messages from Tottenham and Torino after their senior debut with Italy’s national team.
Vicario and Bellanova made their first senior appearance for the Azzurri on Sunday in a 2-0 win over Ecuador at the Red Bull Arena in New York.
The ex-Empoli goalkeeper had never played for the national team at any level, while Bellanova had over 80 appearances with the Azzurri youth teams, including 20 with Italy U21.
Both players posted pictures on Instagram on Sunday after their senior debuts.
“You never forget your first,” wrote Bellanova, while Vicario said: “A dream, a source of pride and a unique emotion. Italy called.”

Both players also replied to messages from their clubs.
Vicario thanked Spurs in an Instagram story while Bellanova replied with a Granata heart emoji to Torino’s Instagram post.
Vicario played 90 minutes against Ecuador and had a ‘quiet’ debut. Bellanova was praised by Italian media but was forced off the pitch during the break due to a minor muscle issue.
