Marco Verratti can’t see beyond Juventus and Roma in the League, but has given out a few tips about Serie A’s season.

In talking with the Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview released today, the 21-year-old discussed the Italian top flight as he sees it.

“Of course I follow it. Juve and Roma are equal and are ahead of the rest. Every other team is a bit behind them,” Verratti has considered.

“Roma just surprised me because they understood that when not in possession they need to press forward, just like Barcelona does.

“What’s more, in the fantasy league I’ve relied a lot on Gervinho, as I think that he will score more goals than last season.”

Individually, Verratti expects big things from at least a couple of players.

“Simone Zaza has really impressed me – I think he can see out a great season. I also like Matteo Darmian, who is a great person.

“Mateo Kovacic also impressed me when I played against him at Dinamo Zagreb – I think that now he has understood how to play in Italy.”

Last but not least, and assuming that Juventus and Roma will qualify for next season’s showpiece once again, Verratti shelved out his predictions for the remaining Champions League spot.

“I think that Inter can reach third spot. Walter Mazzarri simply doesn’t give up on anything. While Filippo Inzaghi has given some enthusiasm back to Milan, at the same time I don’t think they have one of the best squads.

“If they manage to reach third place, then he will have performed a miracle.”
