Italy international Marco Verratti joked he’s probably ‘training more’ during the self-isolation period, as he tries to ‘keep positive’ throughout the forced break.

The 27-year-old has helped Paris Saint-Germain to the top of Ligue 1, the Finals of both Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France and a quarter-final spot in the Champions League before the season came at a standstill last month.

But the midfielder has revealed that he keeps busy during quarantine and tries to remain upbeat.

“I’m fine, everything is fine,” he told PSG TV. “Quarantine is difficult for everyone, but I try to keep positive, to enjoy my family a little more.

“And I’m trying to do things that I didn’t do much previously. I work every day. I also think that I’m training more than I did before,” he joked. “Before, with games, we didn’t have much time to train or heal when we had small niggles.

“I also play sports for the head, because it’s a habit for us. I’m lucky to have a treadmill at home and therefore I’m able to run.”
