Sporting director Mario Passetti has revealed that Cagliari are prepared to negotiate with both Inter and Radja Nainggolan, to keep the player in Sardinia.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly looking to sell the former Belgium international for €18m this summer and even if the Rossoblu can find the resources to secure a deal with Inter, the player’s salary will cause problems for the Sardinians.

“We have always said it,” he told La Domenica Sportiva. “That’s our position, we will have to talk about it together.

“It’s clear that, after what is happening, to think that Cagliari will be able to afford the wage of Nainggolan is quite unrealistic.

“But the dialogue between the parties can make the difference. We will talk about it with Radja and we will talk about it with Inter. We will see if there are the conditions to build something together.”

Nainggolan has scored five goals and contributed five assists in his 21 Serie A games for Cagliari this season, returning to the club almost 10 years after he first arrived from Piacenza in January 2010.
