The Disciplinary Commission ruled Hellas Verona fans were guilty of aiming racist abuse at Napoli player Pablo Armero and have been given a suspended sentence of a game with the Curva behind closed doors.
However, Verona are fiercely contesting the decision and claim it is an “aberrant” decision based on a misunderstanding.
In fact, Coach Mandorlini was so furious that in today’s Press conference he refused to answer “any question about sport. There’s no point talking about sport after we were penalised by this decision against our family and our fans.
“A huge mistake has been committed, a grave injustice. I don’t want to talk about anything else, because this is too important.
“We are very sad and also angry. Our people have to support us against Roma, as we need them. This is a terrible injustice and everyone at the club is agreed on this position.
