Jordan Veretout has come under fire after attending his wife Sabrina’s birthday party, despite knowing that she had tested positive for COVID.

Roma coach Jose Mourinho gave his players five days off and the French midfielder went to Monte Carlo to celebrate his wife’s birthday with their friends. Sabrina is expecting their third child in a couple of months.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, the controversy is due to the fact that Veretout’s wife declared on social media yesterday that she had tested positive for COVID, but that she was going to celebrate her birthday anyway because she’d already met her friends and everyone had been warned. Veretout was obviously present at the party.

The Roma fans obviously did not take this well and in response to the criticism Sabrina decided to post messages from fans and articles reporting the news on her Instagram story.

The Giallorossi management are distributed by this situation, especially considering that they’re due to return to training next week, and they’re worried it’ll upset the positive mood currently in the Roma camp.
