Italy Coach Giampiero Ventura believes the investments for Roberto Gagliardini and Mattia Caldara show “the future looks very bright.”

Atalanta completed the transfers for their two youth team players this week, sending Gagliardini to Inter for up to €28m including add-ons, while Caldara will go to Juventus in 2018 for up to €25m.

“This confirms what I have always said, which is that there are many more talented young players in Italy than people might think,” Ventura told Sky Sport Italia.

“The problem is giving them an opportunity to show what they can do without too much pressure on their shoulders.

“I think we have every element needed to do something very good for the future. The future of Italian football is bright.”

Is it better than the younger players are making the move to big clubs early?

“The priority is that they play regularly.”
